The Windows Store’s ‘new and rising’ apps are actually ‘old and stationary,’ developer claims - stiertheirignishe

The Windows Store for Windows 10 PCs and smartphones has a "new" problem.

Microsoft MVP and developer Matt Lacey spent four months trailing the Windows Store's "Newfangled and rising" apps section for both gimmick types. His findings don't look good for the progress and outgrowth of the Windows Storage, as reported by Neowin. Lacey said 62 of the top 72 apps in that subdivision were exactly the same on the first day of the tracking period as they were along the last.

Lack of front

The Windows Store's spick-and-span and insurrection incision for PCs.

Lacey tracked the top 72 apps in the Windows Fund's "new and revolt" section every day between March 1 and June 30 (more than 120 days). Then he performed some basic comparisons to tax what was going on in the store.

As mentioned above, the nearly surprising (OR non) finding was that the app selection in "new and rise" was in essence nonmoving concluded that four-month period. Only here are a few more interesting findings.

Lacey establish that the Windows Store's late and rising section had an average of 1.66 virgin apps per Clarence Shepard Day Jr., and on 22 days there were no new entries to the category at whol. Over Lacey's trailing period, 202 rising entries hit the new and improving chart.

Apps that entered into the top 72 listings in the class—aka the first page—sat there for an mediocre of 39.35 years, according to Lacey. But 65 apps were Re-entries that entered the new and rising segment, liberal the chart, and then returned. Lacey says some apps re-entered the chart three or four times.

Finally, only 10 apps aggregate that were in the late and rising graph on March 1 were non there on June 30.

Wherefore this matters: Without hard data comparing the Windows Store to the equivalent charts for Humanoid and iOS, it's hard to say how unwell (Oregon non) Microsoft's app store is doing. IT's also viable this is just a guinea pig of bad curation on Microsoft's part, and that the "new and rising" section is not an straight representation of the store's offerings in that area.

Whatever the event, in that location's No head that the Windows Store doesn't suffer the same breadth of selection you see on Android and iOS. The real takeaway here is that when you want new apps for your Windows 10 device, the "unexampled and rising" section may be the sunset lay you lack to attend.
